Not quite sure what you mean by switch. Can't you just open a PayPal account?

Ah ok, I don't know much about e-gold, presumably you can't just withdraw it then?

No, you have to out-exchange. Buying or selling egold has a fee attached. By trading with someone, we both would be saving a bit.

I like it. It based on gold and you purchase amounts of the commodity. When the price of gold rose, I actually ended up with a fair bit in my accounts because of it. I've had my account since around 1998.

Oh I see - so every time you buy a bit of e-gold, your virtually buying a bit of real gold (but without the storage and security costs)?

Then e-gold make a profit by charging for transactions. How much do they charge on top of the exchange rate?

Yup...It is digital gold. The exchange services charge the out exchange rates. Often the exchange rates to buy are around 10% but it varies depending on service. Out-exchanging costs vary pretty widely. e-gold owns Omnipay, which is an exchange service.

I have about $175 in e-gold too. It's quite difficult to out-exchange it now. I think Pecunix is the best digital currency.
